i just realized about 5 minutes ago that my desk at work kind of screams my personality-- and i like that... but i feel a bit strange about it as well. it's not really like anyone else's desk, but i guess that's fine, since we're all different.

Your desk looks neat, orderly, sharp, snappy, and generally interesting. Some time I'll take a photo of mine.
well, thank you-- i should take pictures of the boring plain desks around me for comparison, i guess. a few months ago i also had a giant stack of carpet squares in there...
