does this seem funny?
today i had a meeting at work with a group of consultants. since this meeting, i have been corresponding with one of them via email. despite the fact that he shares the same name as the company, his email signature indicates he is the vice president... leading me to wonder, who is the president?

lack of blogging
my absence of personal computer has left me a bit vacant from blogging... i hope to remedy this situation soon. i can't decide if i should buy a new computer on the tax free weekend in MA (aug 16-17) or drive to NH to buy it tax free before then... feels like cheating to drive to NH but i might do it anyway... thoughts?

glamour shots
twice this week i ate my lunch in the park while reading a book, and each time i witnessed photo sessions-- earlier this week one co-worker took head shots of another co-worker (who, might i add, changed shirts twice in broad daylight-- weird) and today someone taking pictures of someone else lying on their stomach in the fountain. i mean, it's hot out, but really?

sunshine
the weather is beautiful today! i think everyone is in a good mood-- i certainly am! allow me to make one remark, though, about clothing choices in the warm months: please know that it is NOT ok, under any stretch of the imagination, ladies (or men i guess) to wear skirts or dresses that barely cover your ass cheeks-- i just saw someone in a yellow number that apparently never got the memo.

one large hula hoop, twice
this morning i went to work the same old way-- bus to subway. while waiting at the subway station, i ran into anna, and together we observed a woman carrying a 5' diameter hot pink, green, and black sparkly hula hoop. she boarded the subway with us and got off at the same stop as well.
(fast forward... later that same day)
i had to stay late at work, and by the time i left, i was a little out of it... i boarded the 10PM bus, engrossed in my book. a few stops into the bus i looked up and who do i see but that same woman with the same hula hoop. seriously.
a few questions come to mind:
1. how did this woman and i manage to operate on exactly the same schedule?
2. a hula hoop? really? what was she doing?

office etiquette
sometimes i worry that i'm talking too loudly at my desk, and i am bothering other people... this stems from the loud T.M.I. talkers i sit or sat near-- for example, the co-worker who spoke to the daycare center loudly about breast feeding... enough. but now there is another individual near me who shares too much... be it about the temperature, computer issues, what's for lunch, weekend plans, running schedule-- simply too much. when i get on the phone, or talk to another person, i do have a bit of a fear that I am too loud. as a strategy when i make personal or semi-personal calls i try to speak very quietly directly into the phone, as if i am speaking to a spy about top-secret information. that, or i take a cell phone call in the stairwell.
note: after i wrote this post, i received a call from a co-worker who could not hear me and asked me to speak up. i ended up yelling about net and gross square footage and feeling like a hypocrite.

same old
it's amazing how quickly i fall back into the same routine... this past weekend was excellent: relaxed and carefree... the week is busy though and it feels like last weekend was forever ago. i'm also getting a little crazy... maybe it's the heat... but i wonder why i haven't heard back if i passed my latest exam-- could it be that i took it less than a week ago? seriously. sometimes i feel like i need a vacation from myself.

refreshed
a nice long weekend of campfire and climbing. it was great! it was the first time this season we made it up to Rumney, and the weather was just perfect. i've attached a few photos.

the campsite, however, was weird-- typically when we go to Rumney we just make it a day trip (it is a 2 hr drive) but this time we decided to stay for 2 nights/3 days-- let me just recommend, though, that if you're considering staying at a campsite that advertises it has sites for camping AND RVs, don't do it. it was like stepping into another universe. last night we went out for dinner and when we came back it was extremely difficult to maneuver the car in and around the GIANT bonfire practically in the road, and the hundred or so people sitting in chairs ready for the fireworks. the fireworks were also terrifying-- the first one went off too early or something and basically landed on the pool deck, though it looked like it was headed our way! we also ran into some weird signs on the campsite-- the first night we saw a small building that said "showers" so we went for it-- the sign in the shower room said "warm water showers only"... which was actually a bit of an exaggeration: the water was cold. i actually almost got sick that night because my hair wouldn't dry, and i couldn't get my core temperature up. saturday we found the hot showers-- apparently the first showers we found were the pool showers?!?! this place was fake fancy. here is our campsite right when we arrived... before we really realized how crazy the place was. note the pop-up camper behind dan is actually another campsite-- they really pack 'em in.

another post about twins
(this time it's about real twins)
i was waiting for the commuter rail and i saw my old boss's identical twin brother... it was strange. i felt like he should have said hi to me.
